Robots Rule

I have purchased robots for all of my nieces and nephews as well as friends' children. Robots are loved by all. This gift is an absolute winner! Kids love to build robots! It is a great learning activity for them. Their faces light up when that robot moves. Plus the child feels so good when he or she has accomplished this task. It builds self esteem. Afterwards they can write a story about the robot's adventures.

difficult to put together

I am an adult and this is increidbly hard to put together. The directions even for me were very unclear. It was physically difficult to manipulate.

It was cute and the pieces were quality but it was hard to build for a 10 year old. It was hard for me to build when I tried it! Then it was really hard to take it apart to build the next one. And it kept jamming for us, we could not get it to walk.

Cheaply made and tiny parts hard to identify in instructions. Booklet lists parts in beginning of instructions, but should be numbered and numbers used throughout instructions for different robots. Many parts look the same when trying to build robot. No way a 5 year old can do this on his own. On a positive note, my grandson loves that it is battery powered and creates his own crazy interventions and robots and loves watching them go.

A robot that works!

This was a gift for my 7 year old son. He loves it. He builds his own robots and trouble-shoots when things don't go as planned. As a parent, I love the book that comes with this set. It is a story book about a robot factory gone awry and you the builder need to help fix the robots of the factory. The story continues with each suggested build. Super cute.

Not for 5-year olds!

Our 5-year old granddaughter was very excited when she opened this gift on Christmas morning, but that excitement quickly waned when we tried building our first robot. The diagrammatic instructions are difficult to follow; even her 60+ grandfather, who has a science and engineering background, found them challenging. It would be helpful if there was a list of required parts for each robot and if the parts were identified in the diagrams, as it was sometimes difficult to tell, from the picture, exactly which part is needed. The robot did walk, although it kept jamming up, once built. We will put the toy away and try it again when she is older, but I expect it will end up being donated.

A challenge but fun

Our bright 5 yo builder/constructor grdson worked on this w/ grandpa; lots of pieces and a little hard to ID them but he was fascinated and willing to keep working on it.They didn't complete one in 45'' but there was no boredom! He can't wait to finish first one and make it work.

Excellent toy

Excellent, creative, versatile and fun toy. Instructions are somewhat complex, so a 5 year old will need a good bit of help.

I would only recommend this product to a much older child. It says 5-7 years old but it is hard for an adult to do--this is bad for a child's self esteem. Please change the age on this product.
